Since its inception in 2008 it has become widely recognized on both the national and international circuits for showcasing ia seamless expression of taste in fashion. Now on its seventh year, the Sunshine Coast International Fashion Festival continues to showcase the best of the best Sunshine Coast designers. From legendary industry icons to the raw and emerging designers, the biggest fashion event in the region will take place on 24 and 25 October 2014 in Palmer Coolum Resort, Coolum Beach, and will feature a seamless and sleek expression of fashion statement. In its aim of giving emphasis to local designers’ oeuvre and showcasing the undiscovered designers in the region, the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival has since then become an internationally recognised premier fashion event with its commitment of showcasing the elite of the Sunshine Coast globally. Sunshine Coast Design Awards and Hall of Fame require designers to be Sunshine Coast based or launched their careers in fashion design on the Sunshine Coast. Categories include swimwear, resort, ready to wear, couture, ethical, indigenous and Hall of Fame. Prestigious brands will also be a part of the Sunshine Coast Fashion Festival. Some of the exciting brands include Lorna Jane, La'Or, Elizabeth de Varga, SUBvert, Abby Rose, Hive, Sunflair, Embellished Kaftans, and OPERA, and a line-up of up and coming designers.
